I was joined by my friend Kevin on this week’s live session to discuss this topic; “Belief is not The Antidote to Doubt”.
Father Kevin Alban is the Provincial Superior for the order of Carmelites in Great Britain. He also teaches Church history at Oxford University and gives regular community talks as well as a one-to-one counsel. So he knows a thing or two about what it means to believe.
This session was a real learning experience for me as we explored this somewhat loaded term “Belief” from many angles from the refuge of comfort and delusion to the challenge of a value-driven life.
“The hardest thing to do is to keep an open mind to possibilities we’ve never considered before, and to look at anything that life throws up to us as something which has the potential for helping us to appreciate and teaching us what is essential in our lives.”
